Planting Day at Miwok Valley Charter School, Petaluma - Saturday, May 18th from 9 am - 2 pm
A Program for All Ages!
Let's Bring All the Pollinators to the Yard
We are so excited to plant a pollinator hedgerow at Miwok Valley Charter School with about 1,000 plants, and we need your help! Not only will these plants be drought tolerant and ecologically beneficial, but they will look beautiful too.
In November, ReLeaf Petaluma planted 77 native trees at Miwok Park & School, and now's our chance to add even more love to this landscape. Our partner, Conservation Corps North Bay, will have already prepared the grounds by sheet mulching to compost the lawn in place and retrofit the irrigation to make sure the new plants flourish.
We invite you to come help plant a pollinator hedgerow and raingarden that will support our pollinators and infiltrate water for years to come! These plants will absorb carbon from the atmosphere, hold water in their roots, and provide a space for pollinators such as bees, butterflies, birds, and moths to flourish. We will highlight our favorite beneficial plants and explain the process of planting into a sheet mulched landscape, to ensure the plants are happy and healthy.
In partnership with Rebuilding Petaluma, we'll also be giving away t-shirts to all volunteers who attend!
